3 Reasons Online Consumers Don’t Like Your Website

If you have a decent amount of traffic coming to your business’s website but aren’t making enough sales, there’s a chance there’s something wrong with your website. Here are a few reasons why your website might be driving potential customers away:

1. It’s difficult to use
Online consumers don’t want to go through thirty steps to order something from you, and they don’t want to have to spend thirty minutes looking for your FAQ page. In fact, a recent study indicated that the websites Americans like to visit are also the easiest to use and navigate. Most internet users, all over the world, would probably agree that they’d prefer an easy-to-use website to a difficult-to-use one. So, make things as easy as possible for your website’s visitors, and you’ll be able to drive more repeat web traffic and maybe even make more sales.

2. It’s unattractive
Looks matter online. If your website design looks like it hasn’t been updated since 1999, you can’t expect consumers to take your business seriously or feel comfortable giving you their credit card information to buy one of your products or sign up for your services. The most successful websites in terms of design are often carefully organized, uncluttered, and simple. People want to be able to get the information they want from your website, without having to be distracted by animated gifs and difficult-to-read fonts. If the way your website looks is making your business seem less credible, it may be time to hire a freelance website designer to fix it up for you.

3. It doesn’t provide enough information
Would you buy furniture from a site that didn’t include any product descriptions? Or would you order a business credit card from a site that didn’t have any interest rate information? Probably not, right? You can’t expect consumers to want to spend any amount of time on your website or do business with you if you don’t give them an idea of who you are and exactly what you’re selling. You might want to spend some time looking at the websites of other top leaders in your industry. Once you see what they have to say about themselves and how they describe their products and/or services, you can provide a similar amount of information about your company and what you’re selling.

Remember that you want to be giving online consumers reasons to like your website. So, make sure it’s easy-to-use, attractive, and provides just the right amount of information to pique their interest.
