Postal strike is a wake up call for online businesses

Postal workers are out on strike – the second time in a week – which means we have no post. Not only will people who have birthdays this week go without cards and pressies, businesses will lose cash because orders will be delayed or cheques won’t arrive on time.

However, many Internet businesses are thumbing their nose at the postal workers because they feel that post is out-dated and not relevant to the modern, online world. Oh how wrong they are.

I’ve been asking people over the past few days about the postal strike and its impact on business and almost everyone has told me that the strike has had no effect. But the lack of post should open an online business owners eyes to all that missing potential. If you take a listen to my two minute podcast you’ll hear why I believe the postal strike shows that many online businesses are not making as much money as they could be.
